By Professional Gardener from Chadds Ford, PA on 08/19/2009 Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm a Professional Gardener so I bought these to work in. The length of the inseam is a little too long for me. As a gardener the extra pockets come in handy but the back pockets would be easier for me to use if they didn't have flaps. I like to carry tools in my back pockets. The fabric is also a little to heavy for working on hots days.

They are functional and attractive. They fit well and are high quality. They will wrinkle a bit if not removed from the dryer promptly. Purchased them in three colors.
By keramoso from Sunnyvale, CA on 07/26/2009 Pros: High-Quality Material and Stitching, Substantial Best Uses: Camping, Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: So many reviews have listed conflicting info about the fit, so I guessed and ordered my size, but they are indeed too small. If it weren't for that I'd give them five stars. I'm keeping them because I'm dieting. ;^)

By rosie the riveter from ganado, az on 07/19/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching Best Uses: Camping, Casual Wear, Running/Hiking, Travel, Work outside Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I find all Carhartt clothes are good for working outdoors. Some have areas that aren't great - if only Carhartt would make work clothes for women who work, not young girls who are interested in fashion (i.e. low waist).
favorite everything shorts By k in z from Zurich & CT on 07/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Carhartt shorts and pants fit me better than any other brand with much less gapping in the waist. (Not no-gap, but best I've found.) These shorts are tough and comfortable, wonderful for everyday summer wear.
Though these are seconds, the flaws seem small to me. I was able to find a small discoloration on one pair and perhaps another has a leg length difference. Basically, nothing that is readily apparent after a wearing or two.
