Well built, light on impact protection By Burnsie from Carbondale, CO on 08/14/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Cons: Sole Impact Absorption Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Lightweight backpacking Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a good fitting and supportive shoe that, alas, lacks in impact absorption but not traction. This can be rectified by tossing the factory insoles and adding a pair of Superfeet insoles to beef up the impact absorption and enhance the heel stability.
I liked the fit enough to order a second pair.
The recommendation as a "lightweight backpacking shoe" applies ONLY if you are willing to drop coin for the better insoles.
A well-built shoe that is not made in China...imagine!
