By Penny from Charlottesville, VA on 08/12/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The material for these pants is very hardy. The "just below the waist" fit is very comfortable. It might be better if it had a drawstring at the waist (I've found myself hoisting them up a couple of times).
The extra room in the knees is useful. Also, the zippers work well and easily. It is very easy to zip the legs on and off. The shorts are a good length.
The only other thing that would make these pants perfect would be deeper pockets.
Overall, for the price these are great pants and I would buy them again.
By Busy mom of 4 from North Bend, OR on 07/30/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I love Mountain Hardware clothes and have several other pairs of their pants. I liked the price and style on these. But when I got them, the waist is very short. They hit me about 4" below my natural waist. There were no belt loops or way to tighten the waist, either. The pants would have been great, but I was very concerned about them falling down and riding so low, so I returned them.
By surfgoddess79 from Huntington Beach, CA on 07/09/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Cons: No belt, Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wore these canyoneering. While the material is much more rugged than other pants (TNF) and held up, there are 2 serious design flaws. There is no belt or belt loops. So they are not comfortable with a heavily loaded pack and you can't tighten a belt to keep your shirt tucked in, the red ants out of your crack, and the poison oak off your back. There are no cargo pockets to carry snacks, knife, etc. Just one cheesy pocket with a flimsy zipper. Great for travel wear. They look really good.
By woodsrunner from Copper Harbor, MI on 06/25/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have worn these pants day after day from everyday use to hiking Isle Royale and braving the blackflies and mosquitoes. They are super comfortable with perfect waistline that sits right on your hips. Not for someone with a larger waist but comfortably fits a rounder bottom. Biting flies don't seem to bite through the material. The lightweight material is perfect for summer but not so much for bushwacking. love them and will invest in another pair!
Great brand at great price By jeepstergal from northern california on 06/21/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The rise sits just below the belly button on me, so not sure how it will work with a backpack. I wore day hiking and these pants worked very well. The thigh zip pocket is a little low for practical use. I have not quite figured out the elastic cord at the bottom hem. No toggles to keep them secured when tightened. Overall great quality and fit.
By Robin, 53, fit traveler from NH on 06/21/2009 Pros: High-Quality Material and Stitching Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Much too large and long for me. Also, very heavy fabric. Would be great for a very tall person in cold weather, but then why zip off to shorts.
seem like great pants, poor fit By PlantNerd from Davis, CA on 06/14/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Pants fit funny. Right size in the waist, but VERY tight in the legs and butt (and my friends joke about my lack of a butt) and will have to be returned. That being said...I think I'm going to order a size larger and see what happens.

The only downfall is the wait does not come with the ability to adjust it at all and there are no belt loops.

By No more online shopping for me from Seattle, WA on 06/02/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Packable Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The description fails to mention the low-slung waist. Do we really need low-slung waistlines out on a mountainside?!
The size difference between the hip and the waist line is terrible. It is designed for someone with a large spare tire--waist much larger than hips. Did they look at the figure of a woman before these went to the manufacturer?
A huge let down.
