I have a 50lb pit and the large fits her well, maybe a tad big but better than too small. This is a true Columbia jacket and also protects their underbelly, which most don't. Winters are harsh. This coat not only fits him perfectly, it keeps him dry in snow and rain and he likes it; not to mention he looks pretty snappy in it too. I have even been asked if I had the coat custom made for him. It is easy to put on and the all elastic panel at the chest area gives him flexibility around his chest and neck. Great buy.

I have two puggles and it fits them perfectly. I had no problem putting the coats on them at all. I put it on them when it was raining and it absolutley kept them dry in the downpour. Can't give it the full five stars because I'm waiting to see how it will hold up in the cold and snow and whether it washes well.

However, I unfortunately ordered a size too big. Hard to tell because my dog is long and skinny, but better too big than too small :)

BUT, they didn't fit around the rib cages of the 2 dogs, so I sent them back for an XL. [...] the quality is top notch and the one coat now fits perfectly. Definitely get one size larger.

I have a 35 pound border collie mix and according to the sizing chart i should get a medium, well because of the review i went ahead and ordered a large and i don't regret it a bit.

We walk in the morning and puppy school is outdoors. This coat keeps her very warm. It is very form fitting, to hold in the heat. Just wish it had a lead ring. But you can put on a harness under coat and undo a zipper on back. Very nice looking coat. Would buy again.

The small was skin tight. The medium is a little big around the underarms, but not enough to be an issue. Our dog is 22 lbs and a mixed-breed, including lab. With our harsh cold and lots of snow, we especially like the full coverage on the bottom of the coat, as well as to the base of the tail. (It just needs a little hood!) :) We got it in the vibrant yellow color and that is also going to be great for visibility on snowy days.

It does cover his entire back down to his tail, which is good, but I had to cut and sew the coat on his belly so he could urinate without soaking the coat. As it was it covered his wee wee. I think you could get away with just cutting it without sewing and it would hold up if you are not handy with a needle. Or if you have a female dog then there would be no worries. But the material is great and my dog took to it right away and he has never worn a coat before. I like the fact that the coat actually does protect his abdomen from getting soaked. The material around the front legs and neck is stretchy so it allows free movement without chaffing. All in all it's the best product I have seen available for a great price.

I ordered an x-small, and my dog was definitely too big (15 lbs) for it so I'm waiting on the new one. I like that it's waterproof and covers his chest. Looking forward to getting the new one.
