My doberman is about 90 pounds, and after reading the reviews, I ordered the 2XL size. I was optimistic, so I ordered 2 - now I wish I had ordered 4. My dog has alopecia, and we live in the mountains. The jacket is perfect to help him regulate his body temperature during cold weather. I would say that if your dog is not well-trained this could be difficult to get on. We use it as an exercise in doggy patience, and everything else is so great that it is easily overlooked. So many other jackets that I have bought have strange collars or hoods attached or are very easily removed during play. This one is sleek and will stay on during most any actvities.
A must have, especially for a smaller do By greenmountaingirl from vermont on 11/15/2009 Best Uses: Outdoors, Small Dogs Describe Yourself: Single Dog Owner Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great jacket. This jacket covers the whole body, not just their back. No more dragging in mud on her stomach.
By Gardener77 from Scandia, MN on 11/13/2009 Pros: Cute, Good Quality, Nice color green, Washes Well Best Uses: Harsh Weather, Outdoors Describe Yourself: Single Dog Owner Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I had a hard time getting the proper size - the first one was mismarked so I had to exchange and then that one was too small. The medium is a bit big, but better than being a bit too small.
By TJ from Bettendorf, IA on 11/13/2009 Best Uses: Harsh Weather, Outdoors, Small Dogs Describe Yourself: Multiple Dog Owner Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My Papillon wears it comfortably although she decided she had to walk only sideways for the first 10 minutes. It's a bit tricky to put on the first couple of times because of the zipper. Not bulky and good quality. Wish there were more colors to choose from.

By ldf from boston, ma on 11/12/2009 Pros: Cute, Easy to Put On, Good Quality, Washes Well Best Uses: Harsh Weather, Outdoors Describe Yourself: New Owner, Single Dog Owner Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was looking for something to keep my cocker spaniel dry while on our walks. This jacket makes my life alot easier, I don't have to towel dry him as much from a walk in the rain. I am looking forward to the walks in the snow!
By Julz and Ava from East Lansing, MI on 11/12/2009 Pros: Easy to Put On, Good Quality, Looks great, Simple design Best Uses: Harsh Weather, Large Dogs, Outdoors Describe Yourself: Single Dog Owner Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It's relatively easy to get on and off and looks great, but is not a perfect fit for a boxer. Because of the recommended sizes and other reviews, I got a size large for my 50 lb boxer. It's a little snug in the chest but the flexible material allows movement and she can still jump and prance pretty well. While it does taper quite a bit toward the tail, it's not enough to fit the slim boxer waist. We had a dorsal fin look going on and the little pointed end would just stick straight out and bob back and forth as she walked. But I just folded the extra material over itself and clipped it with a binder clip to keep it from sticking up and it works just fine.
I bought the coat because it's one of the few dog coats I could find that came in simple colors that covers the underbelly. Although I dont use a harness, the harness access zipper is an excellent feature. The reflective strips are great for early morning and late evening walks when it's dark out.
It's a standard high quality Columbia coat and I have no doubts it'll hold up in our tough Michigan winters!
By Raya and Kona from Houston, TX on 11/12/2009 Pros: Cute, Easy to Put On, Good Quality Best Uses: Harsh Weather, Large Dogs, Outdoors, Travel Describe Yourself: Multiple Dog Owner Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is the only product that compares to the quality of Ruff Wear. My dogs wear a medium in Ruff Wear, but a large in this product. The measurements were accurate. To be warm, you'd rather be snug than loose. Seems really durable and the dogs don't mind it a bit. It's a way nicer jacket than I own!!!
By Gasguy from Seattle on 11/12/2009 Pros: Easy to Put On, Good Quality Best Uses: Harsh Weather, Outdoors Describe Yourself: Multiple Dog Owner Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have 2 Dalmatians that are about 45 lbs. each.
One dog is always cold in the winter on walks and outings. I ordered a large and it fits great, the dog tears around the yard like she is not even wearing a jacket. Her fleece jacket she had before would get soaked in the rain, she had a P.V.C. rain slicker but would not care for wearing it. I think this is going to be the ticket. Wife liked the fit and tried it on the other dog, she said get another one!
They already sold out of the large size in red so had to get a black one, act fast to get one before they are gone.
By The whippets slave from Missouri on 11/12/2009 Describe Yourself: Multiple Dog Owner Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: He isn't crazy about putting this jacket on because He has to be zipped into it. Once it's on, though he's fine.
It isn't a deep winter coat for a short haired dog, the lining isn't very thick, but I think it'll be OK.
It is very attractive, though
