Great idea; fell apart after one use By Laura the hiker from Olympia, WA on 06/07/2009 Sizing: Feels full size too big View On Shoes: Shoes are for Wearing Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: My five year old son wore these once, and one of the grommets popped off. [...] unfortunately, so we fashioned and attached a new grommet--mostly good as new, but it took 30 minutes of work, and a well-stocked garage. Since then, he's been wearing them frequently, and loving them, and no further problems have occurred.

great hiker for a little one By Outdoor Mom from Carmel Valley, CA on 06/02/2009 Sizing: Feels half size too small View On Shoes: Shoes are for Wearing Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: So far so good. My 3 yr old has been wearing these hikers for a few weeks with no complaints. Good traction for climbing up hills and over rocks and through mud. He usually wears a 10 or 11, so I ordered a 12 hoping they would fit longer. The 12 fits great and will hopefully last the summer- so maybe these are sized a little small. He needed something taller than sneakers to keep out the grass seeds- which are very sharp and everywhere here in central CA. The upper on these is 4 inches on the sides and 5 in the back. They seem to give him enough coverage. If they continue to last well, I'll order him another pair next year.
