Dry & sturdy-replace insole/no arch supp By jane, the occasional hiker from hiking Himalayas-usually Colorado Mts. on 05/23/2009 Pros: Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Cons: Heavy, minimal arch support, Need to replace insole, Stiff, Very poor padding Best Uses: Backcountry, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots are sturdy, waterproof, have good traction, but insole is practically non-existent. If you're willing to replace insole with a decent orthodic with good arch support, they're a fairly decent shoe. They are a little heavy for long hikes. My 1st day in the Himalayas was 10 hrs. Feet felt like they weighed a ton. I'm a casual hiker. Live in Florida but travel to the Mountains a few weeks each summer. Himalayas this summer/usually Colorado Rockies.
