Second time out, got rubbing and blister on ankles. Never had this problem with other hiking shoes. Bought the same shoes for my daughter. She had the same problem. We returned both pairs and will try another brand.

I walk in the National forest every day with my dogs 2-4 miles, shoes are great on loose gravel and uneven terrain. I am surprised at the affordable price. They are not water proof, so I don't wear them in wet conditions.
By Cowtown from Sacramento, CA on 10/20/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold weather, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love them! I got them to keep my feet dry when I walk my 3 dogs through wet grass and fields and in the rain. I've already tried them out and they're completely waterproof and have great traction, which you need when your dogs are pulling at their leashes. They are light-weight enough to run in. My only problem is my right ankle bone is sore but this could be due to my bony ankle.
