Wish there were more of these!! By jalafa from Michigan on 11/04/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Running around town, To and from work Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I can't think of anything negative to write about these boots, except I wish the other color was available in my size!! There are no zippers, snaps or ties on this boot; it is pull on and off. There is a cutout at the back to grab with one's fingers to help with this. My feet are wide at the toes and very narrow at the ankles, and there is a slight restriction when I put the boots on, but they support and protect my bony ankles and are VERY VERY comfortable. I have worn them inside for two hours now and it is like wearing slippers, except my feet got quite warm, which is a good thing, since I'm testing winter boots! Those ladies with thicker ankles may not rate these at the same comfort level I do, but there are no seams or thick zippers to rub or irritate one's legs, so I would say to give them a try. Please don't let the snugness steer you away! The toe box has plenty of room and the boots actually make my duck feet look like feet I would like to have. I would buy these in every color if I could find them. Obviously I haven't worn these in snowy, icy conditions yet, but I have had other Sorel boots and from that, I would predict that the traction with these boots will be excellent. I wouldn't wear them in a blizzard or in my back yard as they are not high enough to keep out the snow (We have drifts of six to eight feet and usually have to slog through about two to three feet after a fresh snowfall.) These are more on the dressy/casual side of winter boots, not the utilitarian side. They are definitely worth the money. I will be taking these with me on every trip this winter, and probably for many years to come.
