By Josh from Germany from Stuttagrt, Germany on 10/24/2009 Pros: Durable, Warm, Well Made Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: There's no doubt that this is a high-quality jacket. It is well constructed, very warm, and looks good. However, it is completely unlined. If you are like me and wool tends to irritate/itch, this one is a no-go. Liked the jacket, but had to send it back because of that.
By IbexHappy from Hyde Park, NY on 10/02/2009 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: If you are not used to this type of jacket it may take some getting used to as it did for me but after about a week I fell in love with it and really like it a lot. If I had to pick a complaint its that the sleeves are a bit tight and short but not to the extent that it is a problem at all.
By The Brain from Mpls MN on 09/17/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket should serve many purposes. As an outer layer in moderate conditions, it should keep one warm easily into the low 30s. It is a trim close fit so that it should be a good inner liner to a shell which would make it good to very low temps. It is wool and we all know how well that works when its cold. It is a close fit, so there is not much room for layers underneath. At the price this is offered at, it is a great buy. I have other Ibex products and like them also.
By backpacker/sailor from San Francisco, CA on 09/14/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Fantastic Jacket. It's warm and wind resistant. Considering that it's virgin wool, it's hardly itchy, even with a t-shirt on. And it looks good.
It's a little bit stiff, but I think that it will break in. And it isn't so stiff as to bother me. It is felted wool after all.
By Bradw4040 from Seattle, WA on 09/02/2009 Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: It looked OK, but the zipper was very difficult to operate and got stuck several times. The jacket isn't lined, which I found odd. The sleeves are VERY tight, so I wouldn't have been able to wear a sweater under it, which was also very odd. I don't lift weights and have average arms.
The wool they used was good quality, but overall there were too many drawbacks.
Sent it back the next day.
superior material/construction By pinkbikediva from Cary, NC on 09/01/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is beautiful and the quality is obvious. This is definitely and "do not miss" at this price, but order size down. I used the ibex sizing to order for my husband (chest size) and it turned out to be too big. Ordered a replacement in the next size down immediately.

By Carloskid from Hilton Head Island, SC on 08/17/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Warm Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket has the substantial real loden feel I was hoping for. After several STP discounts, the price was remarkable. I'm a broad-shouldered, long-armed swimmer - generally, a size 44. The 44/46 fits me like a glove, so if you're "big" go up a size for a more ample waist. After experiencing several other loden coats, I expect years of use. Loden wool is windproof and water resistent - no wonder it's so hard to find and so expensive elsewhere.
By holly from canadien border on 08/10/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Warm Cons: Sleeves are really long Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My husband is a very slim guy, so the jacket fit him quite well across the chest and hips, but the sleeves are really really long. However it is a beautiful understated jacket so we kept it anyway
