Love it so much I want to sleep in it By horsedocmeg from puyallup on 11/17/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Economical- relatively, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Work or play outside Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a horse vet in the pacifc northwest, so I needed something both extremely waterproof and tough enough to survive. While I can't tell you about the longevity of this jacket, I can tell you the following:
So far, I love this jacket.
I am 5'4" and 135. I bought a medium, and it's perfect- alone, or over a fleece or other jacket. The back end of the jacket curves down to cover the back pockets of my jeans. Fabulous for bending down in a rainstorm and b/c it keeps my cell phone dry.
The quality of the jacket seems excellent.
My only thing is the metal zipper at the bottom seems hard to latch, and I often have to struggle to get it set right before I can zip up. This has happened to me before, so maybe it's me...
This isn't a "lightweight" jacket- i.e. not just a thin shell. It doesn't have any insulation, but it does have a nice lining. This makes it fabulous to wear- but maybe not fabulous to pack up and down a mountain. Depends on you, I guess.
The hood fits perfectly, and is adjustable. It can be zipped off, as well.
As far as waterproofness, I've already worn it in some deluges, and I've been bone dry. This winter will be a better test.
The fabric for the main body (the darker color), shoulders, sleeves, is of a higher denier than that of the underarms, sides (the lighter color), which is why I chose this jacket over its compatriot, the Chaos, in which those are reversed (I believe). It seems to me that it will hold up well against wear and tear.
For the price, this jacket is a complete steal. I carry it around like a baby.

By NM Mountain woman from NM on 11/13/2009 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Stylish Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The jacket is this great color, but the inside of the collar is black. The collar does not stand up well so you have this black collar sticking out like a sore thumb against that beautiful blue. Not for me.
By Ezzie from LA, NM on 11/13/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Downhill, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was looking for a longish, goretex shell for snow shoeing and cross country skiing...this is it! It's an attractive, muted grey/blue. Nice fit. Hood's a little skimpy around the cheeks and nose/mouth area..but the draw cord in the fore head region is great. Good deal!
By syl from upstate NY on 11/11/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Stylish, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Just what I was looking for: a waterproof shell that doesn't fit like a big plastic bag, but still allows room for layers, and is longer than hip-length. I'm 5' 5", 120 pounds with long arms and broad shoulders, and the small is fine, and even allows for a fairly heavy fleece. I'm looking forward to using it snowshoeing, and just walking to work in bad weather.

By hawaii online gear shopper from Honolulu, HI on 10/27/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good fit and quality, but thought it would be a brigher green. Instead, it's rather muted and I prefer to wear a happier, more vibrant color on those cold, wet Pacific Northwest winter days.
Too much wihz and not enough bang! By Barley from WY on 10/26/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels too small Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: It felt and looked poor in fabric quality.
By NYC Hiker from New York, NY on 10/22/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Hiking, Walking in rain Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Layering Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: An excellent shell, very well-constructed with great features like detachable hood, visor on the hood, netting inside to trap warmth. Plus the style and color are very nice - feminine without being girly. It'd be too much for warmer weather, but great for cool and layered with cold-weather clothes. There isn't a huge sizing difference between sizes.
