Good boots for the price, not great. By Snakerazor from Kentucky on 10/30/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit, Not Comfortable Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Shoe is very uncomfortable, especially the sole. This may change after the break-in period. I would recommend inserts. For what I paid, I cannot complain too much. Don't expect a top of the line boot, these are not it. I can live with the lacing system. But for what I would pay for a boot at [...] these boots are worth it.

Well, They're Not Vasque Sundowners.... By Christov_Tenn from Loathsome Stepford on 10/15/2009 Pros: Easy Entry & Exit, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Bulky, Lack Good Arch Support Best Uses: Cold Weather, Cooler Weather Everyday, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: This Gear Just Shoes Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Amazingly low price for this well made pair of waterproof, thinsulate lined boots.
Things I don't like about them are that they lack much in the way of arch support, they're bulky, and with wet soles they squeak on hard surface floors.
I stuck some orthotics I've had in the boots and now they fit properly vis-a-vis arch support.
These boots are made by RedWing, like Vasque, but make no mistake, these are not as good a shoe as a Vasque hiking boot.
Excellent value -restrictive laces By Rebel from Northern Mn. on 09/07/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots are an excellent value at the sale price, but due to the lacing system that won't allow you to loosen the laces to the extent needed, they are difficult to put on.I am guessing that this will improve as the boots get broken in. Otherwise this is an excellent all around boot that I plan on using for winter hiking and snowshoeing. Just don't plan on throwing them on in a two seconds. They do come off much easier than they go on.I would also recommend ordering a half size larger than normal.
By Mal from Burnt Hills, NY on 08/31/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I have only limited use of these boots at this point. They seem comfortable, but entry/exit is slow and inconvenient.
Great boots! Very well made. Liner removes for milder weather. Good looking, true to picture!
By CHard from Indiana on 08/05/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good Traction, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Seems great for cold weather hicking or hunting.
Very comfortable. Replace the laces. By traveller from N. Ga. on 08/04/2009 Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very easy break in period. Quality, comfortable boots with good traction. However, this pair arrived with shock cord shoe laces that are too short, making them difficult to put on and take off. Shoelaces are pretty fundamental new footwear components so I took a point off because I had to replace those cords right away. Otherwise these boots would get 4 stars.
Great Value In a Waterproof Boot By RAMILL2525 from Englewood, CO on 08/02/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is an attractive boot and comfortable to wear. The quality of materials and craftsmanship is top notch, expecially for the price. The cinch lacing system is a little tight, so you have to step into the boot to get it on, pushing down while pulling the heel strap. Should be great for getting to work on wintry days. I will take mine out for long jaunts in the snow and also good for shoveling the walk.
