Quail season is not yet open hear but the boots appear to be perfect for upland bird hunting.
By Jeff from PA on 10/28/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Waterproof Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered my true size in these boots, 9 1/2 wide. I am usually forced to order a 10 in most shoes and consider that my size, but the advantage of wide widths means they actually fit far better than most of my shoes.
It has been raining every day this week for the pheasant opener, so I was forced to break these boots in afield. I a lot of miles on them with very little discomfort for new boots. My feet were always dry despite wet conditions, although the cold does permeate a bit. These are a cool, but not cold weather boot.
After five days of hunting in them, they are already breaking in nicely and quite comfortable. They lace up very tightly and give good ankle support. The boots seem very durable and have leather where it's needed, yet the fabric sides shave a pound or so off the all leather models, which really helps when you are following a big running dog and covering some ground.
I would recommend these boots.
By Magpie from Bishop, CA on 10/27/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Occasional Shooter Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The boot has recently arrived and it is too early to tell how they will stand up. I plan to use them for long distance walking so will be able to expand later on their performance. The are incredibly light and the soles grip well. The leather lining is nice. For the price the boot is tremendous.
My fiance loves these boots! Good basic boots for the out of doors.
a stiff boot...needs break in By birdhunter from petoskey, mi on 10/12/2009 Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The boots were rather stiff for a kangaroo-nylon combo. The inner sole is quite thick which is good for shock and comfort. It is a good 1/2 inch high. They feel about a half size large but I did get the wide boot. A thick sock makes up the difference.

Great Boot, sadly made in China, yawn. By Greenhunter from Cedar Falls, IA on 09/10/2009 Pros: Bouncy, Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Bird Hunting, Casual Wear Describe Yourself: Occasional Shooter Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very much an Upland Hunting Boot. It features the usual Sewn toe and shallow tread that is synonymous with a boot of this type. But in addition to the usual trappings this boot does have a number of new features and few old one brought back.
First off the new features. While Kangaroo Leather isn't necessarily new to Upland Boots it is a relatively new concept to hunting boots. The quality of the leather is top notch coming from the good cuts and not the reject cuts of leather. Only thing I found that was wrong was there was some shoe polish still on the leather from when they were packed. This may explain the reason behind the felt divider that separates the boots from one another than the usual rice paper you would normally find in today's boots. Shark skin toe is also a new idea, and one that I don't normally see. If this holds up in the field and does what it says it does then it is a great feature. However, I must admit I do not know much about it though. Another good item is the return of a full leather liner. To common in today's boots the liners are some sort of fabric or worse the actual Gore Tex liner. Both types when put under normal wear and tear break down rapidly. Leather liners are the best at wear and tear, heck I have a pair of boots with a leather liner handed down to me from my grandfather that are at least 50 years old. Cushioning is great. This is were that bouncy comment comes in. The removable foot beds has a lot of cushion under the heel. You can definitively tell these are not your average foot beds.
The only things that I found to be a serious or bothersome issue is the very tops of the boots. They give you a distinct pinching sensation when you are wearing them. Maybe with further wearings this will disappear and stretch. Padding is not something I look to highly on though as, like fabric liners, it tends to break down rapidly. Also, another bothersome issue is that these are Limited Edition boots that are made in China. Not very Limited Edition as most footwear is made in China. If you wanted Limited Edition then have them made in Germany, England, USA, or help out our Slovak countries which sorely need the business. As it is I'm not one to put a stamp of approval on any item that calls itself Limited Edition that comes out of China. Hence the four stars. All in all though if one is willing to overlook that last issue you most assuredly will have a winner here.

They were comfortable out of the box -- also, very handsome and apparently well-made. I look forward to many enjoyable days in the field.
