Truth in advertising..you gotta love it! By Jim the farmer/home inspector from Lake Como, PA on 10/22/2009 Pros: Adjustable Beam, Bright, Durable, Stable Best Uses: Home Inspection, Work around the farm Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My wife and I use the headlamp for early morning and evening work on our hobby farm, and also for our profession as home inspectors. The bright directional beam and the proximity lighting both come in handy.
Perfect for Search and Rescue By tb69wemt from Warner N.H. on 10/13/2009 Pros: Adjustable Beam, Bright, Durable, Stable Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased this light because I was looking for something that takes the same CR123 batteries my Sure Fire light, my Steri-Pen took and my camera takes. I have the solar charger for the Steri-Pen, so it made sense to to get it. I have had other lights from Princeton Tec and have found there customer service and warranty service to be outstanding! I can't comment on the Battery life because I use rechargeable and change them after using the light for a night, but the rechargeable batteries do last all night long. I use the light primarily for Search and Rescue work and have found it to be almost too bright at times, if that can be considered a downfall, it is one I can live with. The light has been subjected to more than one nights hard rain and survived with out a hitchI can not recommend this light enough
By Bat-girl from Middletown, CT on 09/19/2009 Pros: Battery power indicator, Bright, Lightweight Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very lightweight with a bright beam with several settings. Good variety in lighting. The plastic housing feels a little cheap so I worry about the true durability but overall a good light for the price.

By night light needed from Gulf Shores, AL on 07/06/2009 Pros: Adjustable Beam, Bright, Durable, Long battery life, Stable Best Uses: Backpacking, Boating, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking, WORKING AT NIGHT Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a good headlight. Completely LED.
Case does get warm with extended use.
There are a variety of settings.
This is a very good headlight with C123 battery source (not too common on trail or traveling outside country).
It is still bulky compared to others I use. Still a useful adjunct. I would recommend as a secondary light rather than a true lighter (weight) backpacking light. The variety of power levels makes this very useful.
By tomas from phx, az on 07/06/2009 Cons: Poor Beam Adjustment Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Very bright light, however, the plastic hinge on which the light rests and where adjustments are made is of poor design. Plastic hinge already broke within one use, so the headlamp flops down and stays down. Had to jerry rig to keep lamp in a fixed position.
lighter version of the apex By explorer from idaho on 06/30/2009 Pros: Bright, Long battery life Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have had many princeton tec flashlights and contend they are the best in the market This is lighter than the apex with cr123 lithium batteries becoming more common, its easy to find and almost as cheap as AA lithium batteries.
