By jjnecho from north carolina on 11/06/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Regulates Temperature Well, Wicks Away Moisture Best Uses: Daily Use, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These socks are a little too snug at the top. I like the bottom part and the thickness and color but they leave a ridge on my lower calf. Will still wear them but hope they don't shrink.
By librarian from Fall River area, MA on 11/06/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Cushy, Durable, Good Design, Regulates Temperature Well, Wicks Away Moisture Best Uses: Backpacking, Cycling, Daily Use, Hiking, Mountaineering, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these to use at work & I have found they are my favorite of all my wool blend socks. They are very warm, comfortable and have a nice pattern on them. I plan to purchase more as gifts for Christmas (and more for myself!).
Not in the same class as SmartWool By Annie from NYC on 11/04/2009 Cons: Ankle too stiff, Bulky Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I won't be buying any more of this sock. It's a pretty design, but it's just not a comfortable sock. It's too thick for everyday use (much thicker, for instance, than most of my "casual" SmartWool socks). The annoying thing, though, is that it's not nearly as stretchy as it needs to be. It doesn't move well with the foot and ankle. Be aware as well that it has about a gazillion little tiny loose threads inside, because of the way the pattern is woven in. I'll stick with other brands in the future.

nicely made, on the small side By Eclectic Consumer from New Jersey on 10/23/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Cushy, Durable, Good Design Best Uses: Daily Use, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are very well made and cute. However, they are tight which is not a big problem for me becuase I have small ankles. If you have larger ankles you should probably buy a size up.
By river rat from saratoga, wy on 10/03/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Design, Regulates Temperature Well, Stylish, Wicks Away Moisture Best Uses: Casual dress sock, Daily Use, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great socks for cold climates-they adjust from outdoor cold to warm inside temps. I like patterned socks with slacks so bought all 3 colors. Quality is exceptional-substantial wool, slightly longer length that doesn't slide down and made in USA. Purchased size 8-11 (wear an 8) so a bit on the large side. Being wool, they may shrink a size if washed in warm water. One of the best pair of socks I've ever purchased.
By the weaver from Prescott, AZ on 10/02/2009 Cons: Hard to get on, Uncomfortable Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I do not like how tight the top of the sock is. I find it a stuggle to get them on and over the heel. Absolutely not enough stretch in the top of the sock.
I stand 5'4" and weigh 115 pounds so it is not that I have an extra heavy ankle or calf. I wear a size 7 shoe.
I had ordered style #1969k previously and felt that the s/m was too snug around my toes. Therefore, I ordered the m/l this time around for me. I also ordered four pairs (s/m) as gifts, which I shall return also.
By jjackrabbit from wisconsin on 09/28/2009 Pros: Cushy, Durable, Good Design, Regulates Temperature Well, Wicks Away Moisture Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice wool sock of good warmth for everyday wear, but fit is much too tight through lower calf. I am a thin woman, yet i will need to wear these folded at my ankles to be comfortable as they have little stretch for fitting around leg.
