Buyer Beware: N Batteries By dayhike79 from Whidbey Island, WA on 09/06/2009 Pros: LED System, Pelican Warranty Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This light takes hard-to-find, size N batteries. The last thing that I need to purchase and carry around is another size/type of battery. If Pelican changed this product to accept size AAA, I'd give the product five stars.
I own five other Pelican brand lights, and several cases. They make excellent products, they just can't seem to get the battery situation right.
Read this before ordering By Cook not Athlete from San Francisco on 07/03/2009 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I am going to return the two Pelican MityLites that arrived today for the following reasons (which I'm sorely disappointed your print and online descriptions neglected to mention):
1. Neither my husband, who is strong, dexterous, and highly competent, nor I, who am less so, was able to turn the light on or off without turning it upside down and pushing against a hard surface.
2. The frightening business about hydrogen and all the steps required to keep what should be a simple, everyday, no-care item turn this into a source of anxiety rather than convenience, particularly in earthquake-prone areas such as ours.
