They are actually a tightly woven soft knit cotton. I bought a size up-XL, as I wanted to wash and dry and not worry about shrinkage and be comfy. The top seems to run about a size smaller than the bottoms. A smaller busted person would be more comfortable and less gap at the chest buttons. I wanted conservative comfy PJ's for when the family is over-and these are fine except for the gap. XL would be great for a size 12 if you wash and put in the dryer. They are wonderfully soft, not too warm or too cold. I wish they made an XXL for me-but I'm keeping them as they're so nice.

My husband even commented on the wonderful feel and draping of the fabric. I would buy these again and again and again. I wish they came in different colors.
