At first they seem a little stiff and the insole seems a little hard. However, after wearing them they loosen up and the hard insole actually makes them more comfortable.

I'd describe them as being on the roomy end of being true to size: nothing seems oversized or out of place, but they'd happily take a thicker sock. I applied some suede/nubuck protector and they didn't discolor or otherwise react. I wore them to an outdoor wedding with some khakis and look forward to wearing them a lot this summer to casual events.
