By in the bog from alaska on 07/19/2009 Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: the hood on this jacket is ridiculous. maybe i just can't figure it out, but i cannot figure out how to close the face portion and still see out of it. the mesh is not easily seen through and the drawstring to close the face portion sits right in front of your face. furthermore, the mesh of the jacket is not super-close knit to keep mosquitoes out, so if it is resting on your body (at shoulders or on head if you don't have a hat on), the skeeters can still get ya. the price was great but probably better saved and put toward a better mosquito jacket.

I use it for hiking and just being out in my yard during mosquito season. I did have a problem with fit. The jacket is long and was too tight around the hips. It was easy to remove the elastic and create a couple of 2" slits at the sides. After that it was perfect. Haven't used the mitts-- there's a point where even I will ignore my DEET aversion.
