By SFrunnergirl from San Francisco, CA on 11/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very nice fit and wash up great. Expect to wear this on a 12 hr flight and know they will be comfy enough for coach. If I had time, I would order another pr before my trip. Bought the dark color and they are great.
OK, but inconsistent sizing By Geogal from SW Colorado on 10/25/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought 2 pairs of 8's in 2 colors. The Dark Charcoal fit great, while the Lt. Khaki had a very loose waist and were way too long. I decided to keep them though, and altered them to fit, (sewed a small dart in the left waistband right beside the front pocket) as the price as too good to pass up. What is it with Ex Officio that the zipper zips up on the left instead of the right like most other women's pants? The waist comes up to just below belly-button height. Their "regular" length of 31" seems a bit too long for the average height woman, so both pairs needed hemming. The fabric is lightweight and has a soft finish. The "security pocket" must be the right rear pocket, (has a zipper on it), but there is also a small inner pocket inside the right front pocket, which I agree, is really too small to hold much of anything. I would recommend them to others when they're on sale... You can probably find other pants with a better fit (and a higher price tag).

Strange fit - waist too large & low By catbird from San Francisco, CA on 10/07/2009 Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features, Poor Fit, Security pocket not good Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Has a very disappointing "security pocket". It's quite small and not zippered as expected
By First Time Hiker from Nantucket, Ma on 10/03/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wore these when I went hiking/camping/backpacking a few weeks ago and found them very satisfactory. They didn't get too hot during the day and were really water resistant. The only problem was that the waist was too big, so they kept falling down. This probably could have been remedied with a belt, but I didn't have one. If you're going to get them, just go a size down.
By Movin' Mama from Midway, GA on 09/25/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Let me start by saying that I am in my early 30's and all pants pants are somewhat low cut. Okay, that's out of the way. THese were great pants in every other way, but on the already generously cut waist there are two sections of elastic. Every time I bent down the waist badn gapped and I flashed my rear end! Big no-no. Too bad.
By b0hemian from Sierra Madre, CA on 08/25/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: For a petite, short-waisted hourglass figure, it's really hard finding pants that fit well in the hips and waist simultaneously. These pants sit low on the hips, which is where I wear my jeans or I feel like I've got a corset on. I've never found hiking pants that sit low, so I'm ecstatic about these. I immediately went online to get a second pair. Unfortunately, the price doubled by then. But I'm keeping an eye out! I must have more!
By Born to Travel from FL East Coast on 08/12/2009 Pros: Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Love the fabric (soft, light-weight), excellent pockets. Thighs a little tight for this pear shape and low waist doesn't work for my settling figure.
These are my favorite pants By lindsayinwv from Charleston, WV on 08/10/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Camping, Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought a pair of these pants a while back, and watched for them to be available in my size again. They are super lightweight, and dry in a flash. I've gone rafting, kayaking, and wading in the ocean while wearing them, as well as traveling in Europe. They are a little too low-waisted for serious hiking.
By ILFarmGirl from Land of Lincoln on 07/04/2009 Pros: Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Cons: Closer to hip than waist, Could not use for hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Very well made pants, BUT they are not very useful for hiking when the waist is so stylishly dropped.
I returned them and purchased a pair of higher waist travel/outdoor pants.
