Cheap plastic clasp.

By Toolsmith from Washington, DC on 09/28/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These pants are soft and light, at a great price!! I'm looking forward to hiking in them. Legs too long--my fault, I am not really "tall" in the leg department. Fortunately there are little belts at the bottom I can tighten to keep the legs from dragging. No leg-bottom zippers to take the leg off over the boots though.
By Karzai from Springfield, MA on 09/14/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I commute every day 5 miles to work and I can wear the shorts then when I get to work I zip the legs on. They dry really fast, have lots of pockets and are comfortable.

much more comfortable than expected By larry from knoxville, tennessee on 09/08/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: with a fairly muscular frame and little extra weight I fit comfortably into a 32 inch waist cargo pant. The waist is a little tight (my nominal waist size is 35 inches) but the leg and hip cut provides a comfortable fit with little excess material. The stretch bands on the sides just allows a snug waist fit. The leg cuff straps are an excellent idea for me.
Good Zip off pants for the money By hiker Jose from Texas on 09/07/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Packable Cons: Not for cold weather Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use these pants to hike, particularly in the heat and they are very comfortable. I can't believe the quality for the low price (I got them on clearance for only[$]. It is easy to start a hike in the morning and then remove the legs when you warm up. They pack very light if you are doing more than a day hike. Now for the negatives; only two. I bought 34 waist and that fit was fine, but the belt was too small. I have to use another belt. The positive about lightweight becomes a negative if you expect to wear them in cold weather. You will need something heavier.
