Good pants for the price. By SierraFan from No. California on 09/29/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I cut out the built in "underwear" as it was ill fitting and did not make sense - in a backpacking trip I wash my socks and underwear, but not my pants. It needs to have real belt loops, the built in belt is too small and has no give so what good is the elastic waistband? Material is excellent and quality is very good. Pockets are okay, but I like them bigger. I got these pants for a great deal at around $20 so it gets 4 stars.
By The Camper from Dillsboro, IN on 07/21/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Although not convertible pants, they have a seem w/ mess at the knees for air movement, very nice! And are extremely confortable as you would expect from Ex Officio. Also, have the breathable underwear, or whatever you call them, inside very nice and airy.

Mesh quality good but I can't stand the liner

By PastyJ from Florida on 04/01/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Cons: Mesh brief too tight Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Fit and finish are superb. Super light and comfortable. Going
to get wet? No worries as they dry super fast. Integrated belt
works well and low profile buckle is comfy under pack belt. Only
complaint is the sewn-in mesh brief which I thought were
uncomfortable. Easily remedied though...I simply cut
them out :) These are now my favorite outdoor pants (narrowly beating the Mountain Hardwear Canyon pants). Looks like now I have to get the Amphi shorts.
The most comfortable pants ever! By James from Texarkana, Texas on 03/23/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wear these pants exclusively now. I am short and stocky, and these pants do well for this (the short size). I am lamenting a lack of color variation. I love the Amphi shorts as well. The pockets are excellent for travel and any other pursuit (backpacking, etc.).
Great product, just what I hoped for. By 810 Retired from Hoodsport, WA on 03/08/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Looking for good quality garment to wear while traveling light in Europe. Plan on hand-washing and drying overnight. What are buttons on the cuffs for?
By Mike from Mountain View, CA on 03/08/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Office work, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is my second pair; I love them. So packable and versatile for outdoor stuff, but my favorite use is when I'm programming for long hours in an office chair. The breathability and adjustability really makes a difference; also the fabric glides really well over the skin instead of sticking, so none of the potential discomforts of sitting for a long time in a pair of pants apply.
You can cut out the "mesh briefs" for even more comfort; I can't see that being useful except as an underwear substitute or maybe for water sports.
