By PLum from Sacramento, CA on 08/06/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It's hard to give accurate feedback so early after receipt but I now am the proud owner the three pairs of convertible pants. All are excellent... one Ex Officio Amphi and two different weights of Columbia. Wore to church, of all places, and they were great... very comfortable in our moderate Summer climate. I did not have to shorten the Amphi at all and the waist was ultimately a perfect 38.
By cj from SW MI on 08/06/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Purchased these for a friend. The mesh lining is a problem as it was tight & uncomfortable so the pants are being returned. If the mesh wasn't so binding, the pants would have been satisfactory.
Super flexible unber-pants By scooter guy from tucson, AZ on 08/04/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are the most fantastic pants - great for hiking, zip off for shorts / swimming, all while being light and packable with plenty of pockets. I use them for everything - travel, casual, and outdoor gear. Have worn them on the beach in San Diego, in a Kenyan game park, on a 14 hour flight to Russia, and around the house just lounging. I love these pants.
I did cut the liner out to make them roomier and more comfortable. Seemed unecessary.
Excellent Pants for Variety of Occasions By GMK from Springfield, MO on 07/11/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Fishing, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Just got back from Arizona--zipped 'em off while in the valley, back on when doing the high country on those cool mornings and evenings. Versatile and quick drying for hiking through boulder strewn streams--made my trip!

They seemed to ride a little low in the waist
By brian from moab.ut. on 06/25/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: All round good product. Wrinkles a bit more than I'd like but thats about the only flaw I can see.
Great pants...what you would expect By slmhobblet from Rock Springs, WY on 06/24/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: In my experience, Ex Officio products are not as durable as some of the other companies such as North Face that make products really geared for outdoor adventure. We'll see how these hold up; the price was right for me to buy these for a friend who is going to Alaska to fish.
Excellent light-medium duty pants By Wily from South Dakota on 06/21/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable, Stylish Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these for this summer's travel and camping - the color (dark/black) was unique and I had previous experience with Ex Officio clothing. Fit and quality of material is very good - the leggings detach/attach easily, too. However, the material is a little "too nice" for hard core hiking or climbing. I took a nice spill into a rotten slough lined with sharp buffalo grass and my first thought was, "MY PANTS!" When hiking where I was hiking, worrying about "your pants" is not cool...but actually, they laundered out just fine and no worse for wear. I like'em...but if you're REALLY going to go where The Wild Things Are, you may want more military-spec than Ex Officio "nice."
