good pants especially for backpacking By scoutmom from Holmdel, NJ on 06/21/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Misty weather, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My son bought this pant for Philmont backpacking trip. They are extremely light weight, packable and water resistant which were the reasons we bought them. He attends a HS which has an open campus on the beach which requires him to walk from building to building. This pants works great in rainy and misty weather which keeps him dry all day. We were able to pack 3 pairs of these pants in a travel size spacebag when he traveled to Philmont, NM. It packed very well and light weight.

By kickstand from New England, USA on 06/14/2009 Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I incorrectly stated in my review that I purchased size M. I actually purchased size L (Large). It fits my 34L, 32L legs well, if a little generously.
By kickstand from New England, USA on 06/12/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Camping, Hiking, Paddling, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Wow, these really are nice pants. The material is soft and water resistant. They have a built-in underwear liner (kind of like swim trunks). There are zippers on the legs to help you get them over boots. The color is nice. I'm 34W/32L, and the fit of the Medium size is just fine.

Ex-Officio rates among the finest! All have been just as advertised. My wife and I travel extensively (81 countries and counting) and ex-officio clothing are the first in my travel bags. Amphi pants are exceptional.
Nice pant but a little quirky By Chappy from Montana on 05/24/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a nice pant for sure as you can quickly convert into a decent pair of convertible shorts. However, my two complaints are the "swim trunk" netting that comes inside the shorts (I cut it out...no big deal) and the belt is stitched into the waist not allowing you to utilize holsters or in my case an 8" knife and bear spray to ward off wildlife or anything else that gives me trouble. Otherwise, they are super breathable and give a nice covering for rainy or chilly hikes in the morning and then convert to the freedom of shorts.
