I have owned and worn Sorel Boots for 25 years, my last pair lasted for 10 years. This pair 30 days.
AWESOME! My husband was so excited ! By Val the artist from Michigan on 01/29/2009 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My husband has been looking for excuses to go outside. He shovels even when it doesn't really need it. Actually chooses the shovel over the snowblower, just so he can wear them a little longer! Loves the steel toes.
By Phil from Annapolis, MD on 01/28/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Snowshoeing, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Just used these boots in Sweden, basically the dead of winter, North of the Arctic Circle. With nothing other than a pair of wool socks, these boots were unbelievably warm and dry through dog and reindeer sledding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, ice fishing snowshoeing, and a VERY long night at the Icebar. I've never owned a better pair of cold weather boots.
By Construction Gal from Minnesota on 01/22/2009 Pros: Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Wet Conditions Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are great work boots, if you need safety toes and warmth. I have another set of Sorels that are much larger and taller, therefore, I tend to float around in the boots. But because these ones are more compact, my step is more secure, which is important in my line of work. As I had seen in another comment, the author described the boot's stiffness as similar to ski boots, and I would have to agree. This would be my one complaint. If you tuck in your pants or have knee highs, it won't rub against your shins.
By barefoot in alaska from alaska on 01/21/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Warm Cons: Non-quality construction Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports, work Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Upon arrival one of the cinch straps at the top of the boot was already disconnected. Not an important feature and since it was already winter I put them to use at work. Within 3 weeks the leather upper started to separate (tear) from the rubber lower on the same defective boot. I had peviousely owned sorel boots that lasted for years of hard use. 3 weeks of light duty before their untimely death did not cut it for the price.
