Salomon XT Wings for women By Running Hot in AZ from Cave Creek, AZ on 11/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Wide toe box Cons: Laces don't last long, Squeaks Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Fast packing, Ultra trail runs races Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great for everything from running the Grand Canyon to taking the dog for a walk. Wide in the toe box, but fits my heel nicely. Feel solid and protective on my feet without being too heavy. They support my high arches very well. In cold weather the non Gor-Tex version can feel drafty across the toes. The laces have an annoying tendency to fray and break (they do sell easy to do replacement laces).
Fantastic deal on a fantastic shoe! By Gigi from Easley, SC on 11/03/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have been trying to find a great pair of trail shoes that will fit my narrower heel and I'm am SO pleased to have found these! I will definitely come back for more Salomons. I love the quick lacing system and it seems that I can adjust the fit better than with a traditional lacing system. I wore them straight out of the box and felt so comfortable and so much more confident of my footing in these shoes. I can NOT say enough good things!

By midlife crisis girl from Golden, Co on 10/09/2009 Best Uses: Backcountry, Trail running Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great trail running shoe far better than the recent Salomon series, lighter, more stable and grippy in tough situations, such as blasting down rocky hillsides.
Great trail running shoes By meesh from Knoxville, TN on 10/07/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The first time I wore these shoes was on a trail run. This is a very rugged trail and one I was getting blisters on in my old trail running shoes. These shoes were perfect, I loved them.
hope it's a good trail shoe By ultra chic from arlington, va on 10/05/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I can't say much right now. I've only tried them on at home right out of the box. I'm nursing 3 stress fractures, so I won't be trail running for at least another week. On first try they feel a half size too big and a bit wide, but I already ordered them a half-size smaller than usual (I ordered a 7 in the XT versus my normal size 7.5 in running shoes), but I'm hesitant to go in a 6.5. My teammates have raved about the XT...so I hope they live up to my expectations.
By Dirty Girl from MA on 10/01/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Not too heavy, Stable Best Uses: Backcountry, Trail running Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are comfortable and I went on an 11 mile trail run in them the first time without any blisters. The shoelace system created the perfect amount of tension that I needed around my feet for running up and down the varied terrain without feeling too snug or too loose.
Great traction on all types of terrain.

Best is I don't have to fumble with shoelaces - the elastic ties are wonderful and so so easy.
