Very nice coat even for Michigan By playz_soccer from Grand Rapids, MI on 02/10/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Lightweight, Warm, Well Made Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: GREAT jacket. It's probably a little thin for a extremely cold Michigan winter. But I wear it to & from work, shopping...etc. It really is wind resistant which does help you stay warm. The only annoying thing is that the material is noisy and crinkles when it's cold. That's the only con. I'm 5'7" & thin. I bought the small. The sleeves were exactly the right length or maybe just a touch short. All and all a nice coat. I get LOT's of compliments on the color. (Bought the red.)
Columbia Diamond Jacket hits the mark! By C Active from Tamaqua, PA on 02/01/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Well Made Best Uses: Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Columbia, known for quality textile production and this jacket is no exception.
Lets face it, if you want to spend big money to flash a fancier name in outdoor active apparel, its easy to do and generally you get what you pay for.
With Columbia sportswear it’s always been about the value and producing the best product for the price point. Columbia delivers on the technical ends and I’ve always found their products durable and expect this to be no exception.
Beyond delivering on all teh basics that you would expect for this type of jacket, it incorporates all the extra necessary items found in jackets 3X the money, like plenty of utility pockets, inside and out – soft padded skin contact points and well thought out closures.
For the money you can not go wrong with the product.
By SB from Illinois on 02/01/2009 Pros: Good Cut, Lightweight, Well Made Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Quality coat. Insulation is a little thin, but coat is waterproof and it seems to block the wind well, which makes it both lightweight and comfortably warm.
By Smac from Kingston, RI on 01/16/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Well Made Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bad -This jacket really needs a waist drawstring. It would be so much warmer with that feature.
Bad- The key clip in the outside waist pocket gets in the way when rezipping pocket closed.
Good-I love the fleece lined hood, very cozy.
Good- It's a great everyday jacket and winter sports jacket.

Perfect for training in cold weather ~ By mynpyn from New York on 12/08/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Well Made Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wear this item for walking, power walking, jogging and running in cold weather. It is absolutely the best single item for wind protection and maintaining body heat combined with breathability for cooling down during a heavy workout. I wear it over several layers of clothing, and I don't find it restrictive. I've worn it in 0-10 degree weather and stayed perfectly comfortable - not too warm, not too cold. I recommend it to anyone who wants a barrier from the elements without bulk.
By Midwest mom from WI on 11/24/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Lightweight, Well Made Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The color combination is really nice and striking.
The pockets are set at a nice angle and are lined, feels good to put hands in. A little difficult to zip (double zipper), has to be engaged just right. Comfortable to drive in, not too bulky, but still warm. Brand runs small.Make sure you go up one size. Had to send back the first Columbia brand for this one which I like better.
