The rubber bottom not only helps the bag keep its shape, but unlike canvas tote bags, you can put it down on a wet parking lot and not worry that the bag will get wet.
I use it for all kinds of everyday carrying - groceries, library books, snacks, drinks, you name it, if it fits in this bag, I have carried it!
