Makes a good-looking set with other Mountainsmith bags. Well-constructed. LOTS of pockets! LOVE the rubber, waterproof bottom. Great for wet weather travel and adventure. Plan to give to my sisters for holiday gifts.

By MamMama from South Carolina on 09/28/2009 Pros: Easy To Access Items, Easy To Carry, Easy To Identify, Good Capacity, High Quality Best Uses: Family Trips, Long Vacations, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Once career now retired~ Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have purchased several of these bags for gifts and personal use. I like especially the rubber bottom, as I feel assured that contents won't be harmed when placed on damp surfaces. It holds easily a thermos and books for easy access when traveling. Perfect size to have in the car...doubles also (with billfold) as my purse.
Rubber bottom yes but keep the top dry! By pedals for science from SF Bay Area, Ca. on 09/25/2009 Cons: Base not curved to hip, Hand straps not stowable, Hand straps too long, Not for use in the rain, Small Capacity Describe Yourself: Comfort-Oriented, Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This bag is pretty darned good. It just missed the mark on a few things. It is really well made but... The bottom has a curve out on one side but is flat on the other which is hard on the hip. The top seems to be designed to channel rain and spilled coffee into the bag even when closed instead of over the side. If you use a shoulder strap the hand straps are way too long and there is no way to fasten them down. Just not quite deep enough inside to hold an 8.5 X 11 in. portfolio.
