By Amtrak Tim from Chicago, IL on 11/11/2009 Pros: Easy To Load, Good Padding, Lightweight, Water Resistant Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It is a very well designed backpack. The pack works well for my son. The rainfly is an excellent addition. A good pack to get the gear to your campsite (like all external frame backpack).
excelent purchase for growing scouts! By Scout dad from Greensboro, NC on 10/13/2009 Pros: Abrasion Resistant, Easy to Access Tools, Easy To Load, Good Padding, Holds a Lot of Gear, Lightweight, Water Resistant Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is the first backpack I have purchased for my son, primarily to be used with scouting. It has a very large capacity with plenty of spaces on the external frame to load up add'l gear. We have only used it once so far but it held up great and looks like it will grow nicely with my son for several more years, I also like the fact that it came with a rain pouch that covers the pack.
Very well thaught out pack for growing youths!!
By cjbuerer from Sacramento, CA on 10/03/2009 Pros: Easy To Load, Good Padding, Holds a Lot of Gear, Lightweight, Water Resistant Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Used for two backpacking trips this summer: a 4 mile trip and a 6.5 mile intense trip. It holds more weight than I wanted to carry! The pack was very comfortable once I got the load distributed correctly. The frame adjusts to 3 different lengths and is easy to bungee the tent onto.
Love it.
By Grandpa Hiker from Buena Vista, CO on 09/22/2009 Pros: Abrasion Resistant, Extendable top, External shock cord tie, Good Padding, Holds a Lot of Gear, Water Resistant Best Uses: Overnight Backpacking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A good first pack for a child old enough to carry his/her own sleeping bag, clothing and water. Extendable top and external shock cord and accessory strap loops give capacity to carry as much as a child that size can or should.
Great for young backpackers By Teej from Indiana on 07/08/2009 Pros: Adjustable with growth, Free rain cover included, Should last a long time, Well made product Cons: No bottle pocket on belt Best Uses: Son's 1st backpack trip Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: While you can easily add a hydration pouch, pockets for water bottles are missing. I am used to being able to carry 1 litre bottles in a pocket on or near the belt.
