I bought these shoes for work. They allow me to maintain balance with twisting, turning and quick movements. My feet feel comfortable even following a 12 hour day.

Not what I expected
By Bill from Columbia, SC on 10/26/2009
Pros:
Durable, Great Traction, Stable
Cons:
Stiff
Best Uses:
Day hikes, Everyday
Describe Yourself:
Casual Adventurer
Sizing:
Feels true to size
Width:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Laces are too narrow. I can't pull them tight enough with my narrow feet. Then they slip loose as I walk. For my narrow feet the laces almost hit the ground when I tighten them to where they need to be. They would have been better if I could have tied them like regular shoes.

I bought these to replace a pair of Nike's. I like most Columbia products, but these are just plain uncomfortable.

By Nip in Noank from Mystic, Ct on 10/12/2009
Pros:
Comfortable
Best Uses:
Day hikes
Describe Yourself:

Feels true to size
Width:
Feels true to width
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I was attracted by the color (red)and the price since they were on a special sale. They seemed to fit well until I started to walk around and the right heel did not grasp my foot and rode up and down. It did not appear to be a matter solvable by lacing or ordering a different size and I returned them, but kept the Asolo Mantis Gore-Tex® XCR® Trail Shoes - Waterproof (For Men) which were more expensive but fit just right after ordering 1/2 size down.

nice shoe
By review guy from Santa Fe, NM on 10/08/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Great Traction
Best Uses:
Day hikes
Describe Yourself:
Casual Adventurer
Sizing:
Feels true to size
Width:
Feels true to width
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I had foot surgery that gave me three screws in my big toe joint, making it a taller than an average joint. Also very sensitive to pressure. These shoes are nice for me because they are not very rigid and can adjust pressure well with the laces. The laces are a pull string that needs to be re-tightened every so often. Have only done light day hikes in them while breaking in, planning longer trips.
