By Mike from Dayton, OH on 10/23/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Skiing/Snowboarding, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this jacket for skiing, but I haven't used it for that purpose yet. I've worn it a few times in wet weather, and it has worked well. The quality feels good. Generally, I'm somewhere between a medium and large, and the medium in this jacket fits perfectly, even with a heavy sweater underneath. I only gave it four stars since I haven't tried it for skiing yet, which is its intended purpose.

I usually wear a Large but had to order a whole size down.
Good, jacket, a bit oversized By B'morebiker from Baltimore MD on 08/22/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Skiing/Snowboarding, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great jacket from Patagonia, but it seems to be designed more as a bad-conditions ski/snowboard jacket. As advertised by Patagonia, it is cut on their "relaxed" fit, so buyer beware. I'm on the border with Patagonia sizing- I take a small in their button-downs, polos, etc., but with fleeces and outerwear I've generally been a medium. I returned the medium because I was swimming in it, but the small is a bit snug under the arms, that with a lightweight long sleeved shirt underneath.
As for the construction, it's typical Patagonia-- solidly built, good attention to details. This is NOT a lightweight jacket! It's a 2-layer jacket with a mesh liner, and it feels built to take on bad conditions. Wear it in a warm summer rain and you'll be sweating.
All in all a great jacket!
Not what I expected from Patagonia By Fireman from Longmont, CO on 07/31/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Not true to size, I ordered a large and it was too large, disappointed in the product, it seamed like a low end jacket not something I would expect from Patagonia.
