Patagonia's sizing can be very inconsistent, but I ordered my typical size (8) and they fit well and are a good length for me (5'4"). They are a heavier fabric than I had anticipated (I have another pair of guide pants, not alpine, from Patagonia, and this pair is much more substantial). They will make good winter camping pants, they're very comfortable and well-made. I do wish that they came in a darker color (grey or brown), though.
