I usually wear a 4, or 4 long if available. I ordered a 6, but they are much too tight. Order 2 sizes larger than normal and they may fit! I still think they are cute, and am awaiting the exchange. I would disagree with another reviewer who said the fabric is heavy. These are lightweight pants, good for warm weather.

They are great through the legs, but very tight through the hips and waist. They would be great for casual wear and travel if they weren't so tight! I followed everyone else's advice about the sizing and ordered one size up and the pants were still too tight.

only the sizing may cause some confusions. the website ought to offer actual length for each size.

You do need to order one size larger, the waist may still be a little small. The length shrinks when washed, about 2 inches.

I like Columbia stuff; it's high quality and these pants are no different. But the fit on these is freaky: super small (like 2 or 3 sizes too small) on the hips and butt, and like balloony clown pants on the thighs and legs. I wear a size 6 or 8 normally, and I bought these pants in a size 10. WOW. They fit like a 4 or small 6 in the butt (and they are supposed to ride low) and more like a size 10 or 12 in the legs! They only cost me [$], and it would be $6 to return them according to STP, so forget it; I'll give them to [...] or something. It's not worth the hassle to return them for $9.
