Comments: Although I can see how an XL or larger size would be appreciated by some, I think the sizing is fine. I'm an honest 31" or 32" and medium fits me perfectly. The shorts are not baggy, but allow for greater range of motion than others I have tried that seemed larger. I have hiked, bouldered, canoed, biked, backpacked, camped, swam and lounged in these and never found them lacking. I would prefer just one of the pockets be made out of tougher stuff than mesh, for knives and keys. If you prefer oversized/baggy shorts there are many to choose from, but I like not having to hoist my pants up every few minutes and I don't miss catching a knee in shorts long on fashion and short on practicality while scrambling up a trail or pedaling to the store. Board shorts are for surfing. I think Prana, however, has heard the sizing complaints— my newest pair of "medium" shorts from them are much larger.
Too tight through the crotch area

Comments: The waist fits true to size, and the length is fine, but these shorts in size L are too tight everywhere below belt and above the hemline. I have a pair of voyager pants in the same size, and there are not similar issues. Unless you have a emaciated rear end you may have comfort issues with these shorts - I'm returning mine.

Comments: Hi, I was not happy with these shorts. I ussually love Prana and Large is always my size. However, I don't these shorts could of even passed for Medium. I regret having to learn this by purchasing them (paying shipping was a drag on something that wasn't even close in size).
