This vest doesn't restrict your dog's movements and allows him to doggie paddle without binding his legs. This vest will keep your dog's head above water even while he's resting. No worry about your dog getting too tired when swimming or falling overboard.

We live on a lake and the water at our dock is over 10 ft deep, so it is a necessity that my dog wear a life jacket. We spend hours in the water and this jacket allows him to stay in the water with us without wearing himself to exhaustion. He has a huge chest and with his weight I ordered an XL for him and it fits him beautifully without any binding or irritation. I wish that I had found this jacket at STP 'cause I would have definitely preferred their price!!! At this price I'm going to purchase another float coat for my "granddog"!

The medium size fits both my 58 pound Siberian Husky and my 65 pound Golden Retriever/Siberian Husky mix. The sizing is correct if you go by the chart and measure your dog's chest. The section of vest which wraps under their belly also has "flotation" material in it, unlike cheaper vests which only have the flotation material on the top. There is a velcro attachment on the front with a plastic buckle that attaches over that, and two plastic buckles that wrap under their belly. They seem very comfortable for the dogs, and the nice bright colors will increase their visibility as well. All in all very happy with this well constructed, nice-looking float coat.

It really is the best on the market. I bought another one (hint - a major boating retailer) and I really did not like the way the straps dug directly into the dogs belly. This jacket has flaps that wrap completely around the dog. My girl wears hers pretty much every weekend in the summer while we are on the boat.
