Great shorts if you carry a bit of extra By Dave from Richmond, VA on 10/10/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Dries Quickly, Good Padding, Great Fit Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Skinny waisted truly fit cyclists won't like the fit. If you have an extra inch or two or in the waist, the fit is great. Look like normal shorts. Tough. Durable.
Ok, but a little tight in the thigh area By kw27 from SLC, UT on 09/28/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Tried them for 2 MTB rides (3+ hours) and they worked fine. lining is permanently attached to outer shorts. The shorts material was thicker and a little long for my taste as bike shorts.

Pearl Izumi Launch MTB Shorts By The Shadow Rider from Portland, OR on 09/14/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Good Padding Cons: First pair of MTB Shorts, Pockets not easy to open, Takes getting use to Best Uses: Long Rides, Road Biking, Warm Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: As a first pair, they need getting use to -- they grip differently than attack shorts. They get tangled in the wash. You have to be careful putting them on so they don't get tangled and don't fit properly.

Cheap 4 panel liner but good value By old school crankster from Fall City, WA on 09/06/2009 Pros: Dries Quickly, Good Padding Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Needed a MTB bike short for cheap. These Pearl Izumi's fit that bill - [...]. But... the outer shorts were a bit tight at the thighs. Could use about 1/2" - 1" more room in thigh. The 3D pad is better than most MTB shorts but I wish it had a 6 or 8 panel liner. Only two pockets on back of thighs. Pockets, though fairly deep, closed with smallish velcro tabs. Could use a zipper or a flap for more security. Overall, I'm satisfied.
By Craig the biker from San Jose, CA on 08/31/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good Padding Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Shorts work for what I wanted for casual biking. Because of the way the padding fits into the shorts, they are hard to pull on - the inside seaming can get tangled up with the padding and you need to work to put them on. Once on, they are fine.
