Surprisingly Excellent Shoes By El Mysterioso Blanco from Running Springs, CA on 11/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Supportive Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was pretty skeptical when these arrived in the mail, especially as I hadn't realized they did not lace up in the normal way. (They have a pair of lace-tightening locks.) While I wouldn't want to hike a long distance in these (without being able to adjust the laces more precisely), for daily wear they have been excellent--they have given far more support than I expected and have actually helped control the pain of a displaced Achilles tendon very nicely. With a pair of Superfeet insoles, they do squeak a bit, but otherwise these are fine everyday shoes.
By Brian the Plumber from Boston, MA. on 11/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: these shoes are great, very lightweight, I like the shoes ability to adjust either the fore foot or the ankle without untying the entire shoe. They felt a little stiff for the first like 10 minutes I was wearing them and since have been great. Extremely happy with my purchase and the shoes.
By BamaDayHiker from Birmingham, AL on 11/06/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I added SuperFeet Green insoles to add arch support and did a very rocky 12 mile hike the first time out with these. My feet jurt a little by the end of the hike, but were fine the next day. Outer soles are a bit flat, would like more curve and bounce, but great grip and very sturdy. Two-part lacing system is a bit tricky at first, but after a few adjustments, I found something comfortable. Overall, I am very pleased.

Excellent Product from Lafuma By Mountain Man Dan from Houghton, MI on 10/27/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This shoe is an excellent hiker, and should make any owner happy. There is a reason is got best overall hiking boot/shoe from Backpacker magazine... This thing is really, really comfy and fits your foot like a glove. It feels light, and the Vibram performs well. The OutDry seems to work very well, though I haven't soaked it totally yet. One thing to note, for people who shop by look, it is chunkier than it looks, but I would say the "order half-size up" is accurate. Also, the coloring (at least in Dark Earth) is darker than that picture looked, but that doesn't really matter if you're just looking for performance (as I was). The only thing I remain skeptical on is the lacing...we'll see if the cords last.
