Fantastic for chilly windy weather! By Bike Commuter from Seattle, WA on 11/11/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight Best Uses: Cold Weather, Competition, Running Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use these pants for cycling. They're great in the chilly fall weather and in light rain. They are surprisingly warm but super breathable so that I don't end up sweaty at the end of a long ride. I've also worn them instead of long johns under pants for cool outdoor weather and they're comfortable all day long. If you're on the edge of sizes I would go with the larger one because they have a slim fit.
By Cycling yogini from New Jersey on 11/06/2009 Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Usually Mountain Hardware's XS is a good fit for me, so I was very surprised that I cannot even put them on as a result of no stretch at the waist. I initially thought my bottom expanded overnight. The waist opening is only 26.5-27 inches for XS. As a waist measurement, this is in a normal range but in order to put them on, stretching or opening (e.g. zipper) is necessary to pass the hip.
By Trail Dancer from Rochester, MN on 10/31/2009 Pros: Athletic Cut, Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight Best Uses: Anytime, Biking, Hikingbackpacking, Running Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: In our house we have we have four pair of MH Transition Tights, each getting a lot of use. I love the tights for running in cooler or mildly wet weather and hiking in cool to cold weather. If the weather is in the in-between temp range I start off with the pants on like normal and as I warm up I roll the bottom of the tights up to just below my knees. The "roll" is flat and comfortably grips my leg keeping the "roll" height where I want it. I think the tights look good worn in the "capri" style as well. I am 5'3.5" and 130 pounds with a fairly athletic build. The medium size fits me very well.
The tights do come a bit stiff but after two-to-three washes they are absolutely wonderful. Material used for the tights has great wind blocking qualities but can snag if caught on something prickly or sharp.
I highly recommend this product, though if people keep not buying them I'll reap the benefit of getting yet another pair for an even lower price. :-) Images shared by: Trail DancerHiking the Tour du Mont Blanc Tags: Using Product Hiking the TMB Tags: Using Product
By SmGundlach from St Louis on 10/28/2009 Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: While the fit is near perfect, the pant does not have enough stretch to allow for full range of movement when running.
By konartist from Mercer, WI on 10/22/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Stylish Cons: Poor Fit, Stiff, Uncomfortable Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The waist has no stretch so its hard to get them on and off! I returned them because of this.
Functional, but not attractive By Minnesota winter runner from Stillwater Minnesota on 10/21/2009 Describe Yourself: Conditioning Exerciser Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Good for running in mid-winter in Minnesota. Nice that they are long enough inseam. A bit snug in the hamstrings. Look a bit like jodphurs.
