cheap shoes - make sure you order small By ROPEGUNZ from OHIO on 07/16/2008 Pros: Cheap, Easy on and off velcro Cons: Not Adjustable, Too Small Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought these for by 2 kids 95 and 10. Both pairs were too small, but the kids love the "flames" on them. Even though these are cheapies, (assuming they were the right size to begin with) they probably wouldn't climb enough in them to wear them out quicker than they would grow out of them anyway so i consider them a perfect kids climbing shoe which is what they are supposed to be - definately not a competition shoe or adult shoe.
By Mom of 2 mini climbers from Virginia Beach, VA on 06/27/2008 Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: good, inexpensive shoe for kids. fits small. back of heel a little scratchy at first b/c of the stitching. have your kids wear socks until they break in.
By Truckee Mom from Truckee, CA on 06/17/2008 Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Comments: Great kids shoe! A little wider than I expected, but you can adjust fairly well with the velcro top flap. That also allows to order with some growing room. Only shoe I've found in the smaller sizes and can't beat the price!
Good solid climbing shoe for kids By daddyclimber from davis, ca on 06/09/2008 Pros: Lightweight, Velcro closure is nice Cons: Difficult onoff, Dye comes off on foot Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Climbing shoes should not fit like a street shoe. So comments that these shoes are too tight, may be a result of the fact that they are supposed to be tight. That being said, they do tend to be difficult to put on and take off. As a former climbing instructor, it does take time for kids (and adults) to get used to how a climbing shoe fits. This shoe gave my son about 1.5 years of service before he out grew them (he is just now turning 5yo) I plan to buy the same shoe in the next size again.
fantastic 1st rock climbing shoe By gideonmommasita from jacksonville, fl on 05/07/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Breathe Well, Comfortable, Designed for boys, Durable Cons: Causes Blisters, Don't Breathe Well, No girl design Best Uses: Indoor climbing Describe Yourself: Casual, Conservative, Mom Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love the velcro opening for the kids. The boys love the lightning bolts. Wish there was a design option for my daughter, but with the price so low it didn't prevent me from buying them for her.
By Momof4 from E. Greenville, PA on 05/07/2008 Cons: Size feels too small Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The shoe was exactly what I was looking for for my daughter who loves to do climbing walls. I realize they are climbing shoes and must fit well and close to mould to feet for better grip, etc. These were just too small and I have to return them as they do not have the size she needs. Over all good construction, etc. Just too small. I would recommend them to a friend, just warn of being a 1/2 to full size small.
