Otherwise, very happy with these Keen Shoes!

Keen Shellrock Hiking Shoes By TxHiker from Rockport, TX on 11/10/2009 Pros: Comfort out of the box, Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have always worn Nike running shoes for an everyday-wear shoe when I wore shoes (very seldom) and Keen sandals the rest of the time. I needed a back-up hiking shoe for my trip to Colorado so I ordered the Keen Shellrock. Not only was this shoe comfortable out of the box requiring little to no break-in, it was also very stable for a low-cut shoe. No ankle turning. This shoe has also now replaced Nike as my everyday shoe. I highly recommend this shoe as with any Keen brand shoe.
By prego hiker from Black Hills, SD on 10/27/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was seven months pregnant when I purchased these hiking shoes, so lots of shoes were not feeling comfortable or like they had enough support. The Keen Shellrock shoes made continuing my outdoor lifestyle comfortable through the rest of my pregnancy!

By Dung Beetle from Laramie, WY on 10/24/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got these a month ago and so far so good. I got them for around town, but I've used them for spur-of-the-moment trips to Vedauwoo to scramble around on boulders with my dog. But they are not meant for heavy-duty hiking or wet conditions.
The arch support is great, as always with Keens, and for once the heel isn't loose. The sole is very stable and it's hard to roll in these shoes which great for me who is accident prone even on flat/smooth surfaces (probably because I'm always watching birds, not my feet). They are meant for trail running, but I'm not one of those, so I can't say how they stand up to running. I do know they have sticky tread and do well in mud and on various rock types even in the rain. They are lightweight and I love the rubber toe protection. They are weatherproof to a point, but aren't really meant for snow and extended deep puddles. All in all I like them for an everyday shoe.
Also, as I always do with Keens, I go a 1/2 size bigger than my normal size, and I would recommend the gray ones (Drizzle/Jade Green) because they go with anything and don't show the grime too badly, unless you're in red mud...
By Kris from WA on 10/20/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It said buy 1/2 size up making a size 10 a size 9.5 but they feel like size 9.75. I added foam and wear thick socks but I wish I'd sent them back for a smaller size.

My feet feels closer to the ground, which is an adjustment from Vasque shoes.they have great traction, which is why I kept them.
