By dmoney from tallahassee, fl on 04/23/2009 Cons: The velcro sucks bad Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor, Long Climbs Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: these shoes fit great and hurt less than most shoes that hold this well, but the velcro is horrible. the straps come un-done constantly, but the shoes fit so well that they don't come off. they took a long time to rough-up the rubber so they would stick.
good shoes, but just too small for me :( By korteev from Vail ,CO on 03/15/2009 Describe Yourself: Getting Started Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are great, I am sorry they were too small for me and there were no bigger ones in stock.. If you find your size get a pair, It's worthy..!!
By Climber from Oklahoma on 02/03/2009 Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased these shoes and had to send them back. Even though the size was advertised at EU 38.5 (I am German and my size is 38!), the shoe was approximately 1/2 the size of my acutal foot. Furthermore, the Velcro didn't work properly.
By Max Power from Lubbock Texas on 11/03/2008 Pros: Great for dime edges, Great heal, Lightweight, Rugged Cons: Not as grippy as I would Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor Describe Yourself: Getting Started Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I noticed an instant improvement in my overall climbing when I switched to these shoes. I wear an 11 street shoe and got these in a 43. First time I tried to put hem didn't think I would get my foot in did the oven trick and they went right on all of the air sucked out and the molded right to my foot. The got better the more I wore them and now they are comfortable, but still tight. Plenty of feeling and I love the heels. The rubber is great for dime edges and pivetting, but I was hoping for better results with smearing. I guess if I resole them I will just get some five ten rubber. Really love the fit feels great on my arches, and after the third or so climb the shoe fits perfectly no rubbing or anything.
By Sierraclimber from Tahoe on 10/23/2008 Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor, Outdoor, Sprint Climbs Describe Yourself: Competitive Climber Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought two of these because I go through shoes fast and they are cheaper than a resole. However the velcro will not stay closed . . . on either pair. And the rubber wears down insanely fast. I have had other montrail, and these one's are the worst. I am surprised so many reviews liked them, and I am very easy on things when you get a good deal, but there are plenty of shoes in this deal range.
By ccCoach from wa on 08/13/2008 Best Uses: Bouldering, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am just beginning to get serious about climbing and these shoes are working great for me. I love the velcro. Makes for easy on and off without any loss to fit.
Great product! Just what we wanted. By Phopie from Tucson, AZ on 07/13/2008 Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor, Long Climbs, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Perfect fit and great design.
By Mrs. Bear Grylls from Illinois on 06/23/2008 Pros: Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor, Long Climbs Describe Yourself: Getting Started Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: So far so good. I've bouldered and climbed indoors a few times in these shoes, and they've been reliable and not too uncomfortable (they are climbing shoes, so I expect some discomfort, but no rubbing or hot spots). My non-climbing shoe size is women's 8 and I find the 39.5 a perfect fit. Women--don't overlook this shoe!
