Even though they have an elastic waist, they don't bunch up in the back and add lbs. I got a small and they fit great but some might want to step up a size as these seem to run a little smaller than many "outdoor" brands. I wish these came in a long pants version and other colors. I would order more. Great shorts for the price.

The shorts were quite bulky and baggy.

Elastic may be a bit snug in the waist, but very comfortable. Heavy duty canvas material that is sturdy and durable. I especially like the length. I'm 5'6" and it hits me right at mid-thigh--not too short, but doesn't look like old lady shorts either! They've quickly become my favorite weekend wear.
