By Dave, hiker man from Shenandoah Valley of Virginia on 07/26/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Packable Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I just tried these out on vacation. We hiked the trails of Monhegan Island, Maine. The trails were muddy, so I just zipped off the lower half of the pants once we were done and had fresh shorts. They are comfortable, lightweight, and pack very compactly. Great bargain, too.

By Bike to Work from Colorado Springs, CO on 07/21/2009 Cons: Poor Fit, Poor Material or Construction Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Did not fit well, shorts were cut uneven. The legs of the shorts were longer in the front than they were in the back of leg. Something is not right with these pants and shorts.
Had to return and would never purchase again.
Don't bother buying these By llama Bill from Salida, Colorado on 07/15/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I will not use these much as no ankle zips mean you have to take off your boots to remove the pants leg. sort of defeats the purpose of convertible shorts. Wished I had noticed this before ordering.
I should return them and replace with another brand.

Sportif USA Truckee Convertible Nylon Pa By Cyclingdan from Pittsburgh PA on 07/08/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Packable Cons: Poor Material or Construction, Stitching problems Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Recumbent Biking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is my second pair ordered and am generally pleased. The 36" waist is too large and the 34" is snug but not uncomfortable. The stitching on the my older pair is coming undone and will need to be repaired. I'm not sure if this is due to poor construction or hard use.
By Kinker10 from Denver, CO on 07/07/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Packable Cons: Poor Material or Construction Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The first pair had to be returned because a 32 waist didn't fit true, with the first wear of the 34 pants, the zipper pull broke off.
Very comfortable, but my fly is open. By HeyUrFlyIzOpen from Westfield, IN on 07/06/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight Cons: Poor Material or Construction, Zipper pull came off Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The very first time I wore these pants was to step off on a 3 day backpacking trip and the very first thing that happened was that the zipper pull came off in my hand. This was a little more ventilation than I had been expecting, so for the next 3 days part of my adventure was getting them zipped up after nature calls.
Other than that these pants are very comfortable and easy to convert and fit all of my expectations which is why I'd still recommend them to others.
I am returning them because of the broken zipper, but am looking forward to using the replacement pair (assuming the zipper works).
Hopefully it was an isolated problem with just my pair of pants.
