It looks silly! You have a pocket-shaped, darker area at the upper right of the skirt. It ruins an otherwise very nice skirt.

It is a little shorter (above the knee) than most "casual" skirts, so it would work well in slightly fancier settings.

By Mary T. from Winston-Salem, NC on 05/13/2008 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This skirt has beautiful material but it fits poorly--primarily due to the "hidden" pocket that also function as the spot where the skirt buttons closed. It gaps and bulges out there. I would have much preferred a zipper closure on the side or back to prevent this. I'm planning to return the skirt despite the great price because I'll probably never wear it due to the fit.

It sits closer to my hips. Rather than deal with the buttons, I put it on from the top. Despite the fact that the cotton is of the less expensive type, I ordered another one in another color because they are just so easy to slip on and are so flattering.

This is one of 3 skirts I've bought here over the past month & it's another winner. The waist is meant to sit low (but not in a pop-star-gone-trampy way) so if you're looking for something that sits at your true waist, this is not your skirt; it has the potential to be too short if worn at the natural waist, depending on your height. I find it more flattering to have the waist sit a bit below the natural waist (as in right across any pooch you've got going on, so you don't get that lovely tummy bulge action just below the waistband), & the general cut of the skirt is nicely feminine (but not precious), cool (I got this for summer wear) & comfy. This is definitely going to be a summer staple for me at my office (we're pretty casual), as it's the type of skirt you can throw on with a t-shirt, a cute cardigan & some strappy flat sandles & look cool & casually professional.

Main problem is the short length. I think the photo of the item is misleading - looks slimmer and longer than the actual skirt.
