I normally wear a 4 and ended up getting an 8.
Beautiful dress... fits a bit small By amberwaves from Logan, UT on 05/19/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Flattering, Versatile Best Uses: Fancy Summer Dress Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Casual, Eclectic Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Fabric is so pretty- nice and lightweight. And cut is darling. I wore it to my summer wedding picnic and received lots of compliments and didn't get too sweaty! It fits small (I'm a 4-6 and the 8 fits me), and the waist is higher and it is shorter than I anticipated. I re-sewed the belt loops lower for a lower waist. Also, you need a cami since the neck gapes. It is lined, but I used a slip so that it wouldn't ride up.
By CLW from Maryland on 05/06/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Flattering, High Quality Best Uses: On a Date, On The Weekend, Special Occasions Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This dress fits me perfectly and is flattering which is a rare find b/c I'm small busted and small framed. I got size 4 and am 5'4 and 110 lbs. It is so feminine and perfect for spring and summer.
Cute... if you're really short By Shannon from Lafayette, IN on 04/29/2008 Best Uses: Casual Work Days, To School Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Casual, Eclectic Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Buy 1 or 2 sizes up from your regular. Sized REALLY small. I also think it would only look right on very short women. I'm about 5-foot-6 and the waist was really high and the skirt was really short - it was just proportioned for much shorter people. Also, it's not a true wrap dress (so can't size it to yourself, there's a side zipper to help get it on). The neckline plunges deeper than I thought it would (so cleavage might help too)
Beautiful but does indeed run very small By Jen Frisbee from Tucson, AZ on 04/27/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Flattering, High Quality Best Uses: On a Date, On The Weekend, Special Occasions, To Work Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Career, Casual, Eclectic Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a lovely dress but it runs very small. I am very petite and almost always find that a size 2 or 4 dress is too large for me in the torso. Therefore, I ordered a 2; however, I should have trusted the other reviewers! It is so small in the ribcage that I cannot fully zip it up. Even if you are small, order a size up in this dress.
By Nedra from Boise, Idaho on 04/26/2008 Cons: A size 12 was like a 6, Way off in size accuracy Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I couldn't believe how small the dress was! I don't know if it was mismarked or what the deal was, but it was way off in sizing.
I am sad that I have to return this By so sick of empire waist dresses from Chicago, IL on 04/23/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, High Quality, Versatile Best Uses: Cocktail Party, On a Date, Special Occasions, To Work Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered one size up from my usual and it fit beautifully. Unfortunately, ladies, this is not a dress for D-cups. I was able to jam my girls into this dress, but it was cut so low that it was scandalous. (Well, my boyfriend liked it, but he didn't me to leave the house wearing it). Kind of funny, because its otherwise such a conservatively cut dress. This is a crying shame because it's a lovely dress and wearing a camisole with it would make it look it look frumpy. Maybe you small boobed girls will have better luck.
By Miss c from Pacific Northwest on 04/09/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, High Quality Best Uses: On a Date, Special Occasions Describe Yourself: Casual, Classic Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: needed to return the dress. Pretty, but runs small. Would look better on someone smaller with the full skirt. Is not an actual wrap dress.
By Amy in Japan from Sasebo Naval Base on 04/02/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Flattering, Wrinkle Resistant Cons: Tight in the upper torso Best Uses: Comfort-Oriented, On a Date, On The Weekend Describe Yourself: Overseas military wife Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Like I said, upper torso is tight compared to the rest of the dress. V-slit at the bust is a little low for my taste, but that is easily taken care of with an undershirt or slip with a decorative top.
Perfect for summer if it fit! By Northcountry Girl from Upstate NY on 04/02/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Flattering, Lightweight Cons: Poor Fit, Small in the rib cage Best Uses: Comfort-Oriented, On The Weekend, To Work Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Casual Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered this dress along with a top also by Pura Vida both of which were much smaller than I was expecting. I would defintally suggest ordering the next size up from what you normally wear if you are going to purchace this. The dress itself is beautiful and is perfect for spring and summer wearing.
