By Jason from Germany on 12/01/2008 Pros: Durable, Good Value, High Quality Cons: Felt like a ski boot Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I read how all these people used this boot to hike in and loved it. I live in Germany with very cold winters. Th boots are as advertised as being very warm and durable. It was 20 degrees and snowing, and my feet were toasty, but I had a very hard time walking in them. I felt like I was wearing a ski boot. The main problem is that I can't bend my ankle, and the boots are so tall that they covered the bottom part of my calves-- there's real potential to rub raw spots/give blisters if you don't wear boot socks.
poor boots, cool at 10*and cold at 0*. By work outside from U.P. Michigan on 11/29/2008 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: these boots are cold from the bottoms.

By JD from Santa Fe, NM on 11/23/2008 Pros: Durable, Good Value, High Quality Best Uses: Snow shoes, Urban blizzards, Winter Camping, Winter wet hiking Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Construction is top-notch. I was expecting a first tier product. My expectations were exceeded. The Columbia Titanium "ice field boot" is very, very well made. The Vibram sole runs stiff to provide ultra support for loads if necessary. You can certainly backpack in these boots. The height is ideal for maneuverabilty and protection from precipitation - a strong consideration before purchase. Plus points for styling and looks. I ordered 9.5 mens, which is the only size I wear for anything. Perfect fit. I would assume there are no sizing discrepancies with this boot. I live in Santa Fe -- time will tell if they are as warm as they claim;, however, after close scrutiny, they appear to be more than capable of providing comfort down to their rating of -30 Celsius.
Great boots - warm and comfortable! By rbdancer from Tecolote, New Mexico on 11/20/2008 Pros: Good Value, High Quality, Quick break-in, Warm and toasty Best Uses: Hunting, Snowy conditions Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a fanatic about footwear (being a dancer), and I have lots of demands on boots in particular. They have to be warm in the cold weather, but light enough not to drag me down, and they need to fit my narrow feet and give me ankle support. These boots do all that and more. I only received them two days before my hunting trip, and they were fast to break in and never let me down during five days of demanding back-country hiking through snow, mud, and dense cover. They are also very well-made and look to be durable; they show little wear in spite of the conditions in which I wore them. They are also decent-looking. I am sure they will be my favorite winter boots ever.
