By Diane from Williamsburg on 10/20/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Flattering, High Quality, Nice Fabric Best Uses: Going Out, Special Occasions Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Comfort vs Style: Style Driven Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love vintage clothes, and this dress is like finding a tea dress from the 1950s in mint condition. I ordered my usual size (4) and it fits perfectly. This dress is a bargain at the STP price! It has many quality touches: little covered buttons on the turned-up sleeves, built-in slip, gored skirt that flares just right, soft, smooth fabric. I am 5'4" and was afraid this would be too long, but it hits right at the bottom of my knees. It's feminine but not frilly. Looks good with both ballet flats and open-toed heels. Perfect for a dinner party or reception.
By The Girl from Upstate from Cazenovia, NY on 10/08/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Flattering, High Quality, Versatile Best Uses: Going Out, Special Occasions Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Comfort vs Style: Comfort Driven Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This dress is beyond cute. I do agree with other reviewers - it's a bit tight in the sleeves. Also, it's easier to get out of a paper bag than the dress. However, despite this, I love the dress; it looks great on!
By Lawliette from Metro Area, NJ/NY on 09/27/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Flattering, High Quality, Versatile Cons: Poor Fit, tight in the arms, Tight in the bust, Tight in the waist Best Uses: Going Out, Special Occasions, Wear To Work Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Comfort vs Style: Style Driven Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I have to say that it's such a lovely dress but the fit is another story. I can usually fit a 12, but found that the fit was quite tight in the bust and arms, and I don't have really fat arms but do wear a D cup. It's also really fitted in the waist so if that's one of your problem areas, this dress isn't for you. The best fit detail about this item is that the skirt flares out nicely and has a good length to it. I still would've kept the dress, but again, the bust fit is almost ridiculously tight.
The dress does seem nicely made--it even has a sewn in slip. It's such a beautiful vintage style, and I really love it's versatility, but what good is something you can't wear. If they had a 14 available, I think it'd fit me well, but this just didn't work out. Basically, if you want this, I really suggest you go up a size. If you get the black print, pair it with a red sling back heel, and you'd totally be looking classically sexy and hot!
By Tango from Pick any military base on 09/26/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Flattering, Graceful Best Uses: Going Out, Special Occasions Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Comfort vs Style: Comfort Driven Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am 5'2" and 100 lbs but size 2 felt snug. The sleeves are very tight which makes the dress a challenge to take off with it's side zipper. Other than that--I love it. The cut definitely gives you a feminine look. I'm going to try a size 4.
Beautiful but has some problems By Southern Girl in Chicago from Chicago IL on 09/17/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, High Quality, Very cool vintage look Cons: Sleeves way too tight Best Uses: Going Out, Special Occasions Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This dress is wonderful EXCEPT the sleeves are way too tight from the pits all the way down to the cuffs. I ordered a size 4 which is my normal size and it fits perfectly every where except in the sleeves. But I like the style and the quality of the material so much I may try a size 6 and see if that will work for me.
