I took it backpacking and it worked great. The head of the sleeping bag also has extra down fill which helps cushion your head. It has a good design and was plenty long for me (I am 5'6) I get very cold easily (compared to most)--I was cold the first night (it was probably 30F) but the average person probably would have been fine.
By pjoutdoors from canada on 07/11/2008 Cons: Compression Sack Needed Best Uses: 3 Season Camping Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I haven't owned a down bag in 20 years. This one avoids the problems that turned me off for all that time - it doesn't "leak" down, the down does not clump and with the expander I also bought it is not caustrophobic.
By RunninMedic from Colorado Springs, CO on 04/01/2008 Pros: Great foot box insulation, Great Zipper System, Lightweight, Sleeping pad lock, Warm Cons: Feels a little short Best Uses: 3 Season Camping, Backpacking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Used it last weekend in warmer temps but loved it. Attaches to pad so you don't slide off. Lots of down in foot box and torso. 2-way zipper allowed for foot venting. Only con was the bag felt a bit short. I got the long bag which says it fits to 5'10". I am only 5'6" so it is O.K. but may not fit someone over 5'8" comfortably. Overall, I am a very cold sleeper and so far this bag is GREAT!
