Comments: This is an excellent tent. For the money that Sierra Trading Post (STP) is asking, this 3 person tent is almost a steal at about [$]Nowhere else can you find a 3 person tent of this high quality and light weight for the money. Sierra Designs has a lifetime warranty should anything break or rip. My tent sustained a 3 day downpour at about 11,000 feet in Colorado, just below timberline, with 30 MPH winds. Temps were about 34 F at night. Not one drop penetrated. Need to leave the fly partly open as designed to minimize condensation. The 2007 tent that STP is selling is much better then the 2008 model. The 2007 tent poles collapse smaller and are lighter, the center hub is metal and not plastic. Also, the tent fabric is of better quality (inflation is even getting to the manufactures). Set up is real quick and easy. This feature is well appreciated during a driving rain. This tent has the largest vestibules in its class, great for 3 adults, a mansion for 2. Yup, there are lighter 3 person tents, but they have less interior space and cost much more [...] There are larger [@] but these are heavier and cost more. But none are better constructed. The interior design for head room could have been better, but, are you willing to pay twice as much more for it?

Comments: Great Tent. Very easy to set up. Plenty of room for 3 people. The only negative aspect is that the top of the tent is completely mesh, so many times you will want to use the fly to block the sun, for privacy, etc. and the fly only has 2 places for ventilation. Setting up under the trees would solve most of the problems if there are trees. Overall, I'm very happy with the tent.

Comments: I took this on my first backpacking trip of the summer with my wife, and did I ever get mad at that tent. Once I set it up, I climbed inside and Snag! The mesh caught my mustache and it not only tore some hair loose, but my 'stache tore the mesh due to poor manufacturing. A very inappropriate tent for men with mustaches.
Nice, capable tent from Sierra Designs

Comments: Tent has a large floor plan but with just two crossing poles the sidewalls sloped to much and hence cut down on head room. The two fly poles should have been incorporated int the body and not just the fly to increase space in the tent. Great fly concept as can leave fly door open in light rain without getting tent wet. Great for air circulation. Large fly opening makes for easy entry. Good quality as always from Sierra. There's just two much competition in this market to rate this tent at the top of the pack. Keep trying Sierra, I know you can do it.

Comments: to call this an ultra light tent is a fallacy. at a whopping 6 pounds, this is NOT ultra light by any means. if light weight is your insterest, check out the big agnes super light series (for 3 person tents that is). it's still not ultra light, but it gets you down to 4 pounds.

Comments: Very easy to set up. The pole hub is strange but it works. Lots of room. Its light enough that I got for solo warm weather trips even though its a 3 person. Great for one person. Should be plenty of space for 2 wih gear. Did not use the fly on this trip, left it at home. Only downer was the fabric flapped in the breeze somewhat. And it wasn't really that windy. Perhaps attaching the fly would have mitigated that but then I would have to carry the fly. Overall I'm satisfied, suits my need for a lightweight roomy shelter for one or two.
